I want to get a new graphics card, 4850..?

Updated spec:

Is that prebuilt or do i have to do it all myself, because i couldn't do it myself. Also, OS? :S Vista?

It's really not that hard, and you gain so much. How old are you btw?

I'll look on the OcUK site for prebuilds, they are good value also, perhaps someone can recommend one?

EDIT: Look at the 'Titan Lite Custom' and add a better CPU HDD and GFX. That's what you're looking at. Perhaps you can also call up OcUK and ask them to put a quad core in it instead. Should be similar price. They are built to order, so you can probably get the quad in if you ask. I've treated the OS separately, so add the price of that on if you don't have it. I hope you can see where i'm coming from with the custom builds being SO much better.

Ok building is not as hard as you think. I failed computer studies years ago and built my own with help from fine ppl on sites like this. If you can build with lego then go for it.
It will be so worth it and the buzz of turning it on and it working beats everything. I already ordering parts for my new i7. yum

I've never had to remove a motherboard to swap a PSU out. If you can get a photo of inside, it would help though.

nice list but i dont think the guy is feeling ready for a full build yet. ;-)

have a look here

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?&groupid=43&catid=1080&sortby=priceAsc

even if you dont see anything you like it should give you a good idea of items performance and prices.

How about http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-170-OK&groupid=43&catid=1080&subcat=

What do you think.

I do appriciate the help Alex, maybe when i'm a bit more familiar ill think about building one myself :)

Duke dont you think it would be better to send that hunk of junk back and use the cash to buy pre build from site or build his own?
The spec above is spot on and cheaper surely if he wants to remove mobo he might as well build from scratch.

Going by what other people thought of the spec/model (which has been removed apart from a little info in the opening post), then yeah. But I don't know how easy it is for him to return it though.

The machine you're looking at would poo alllll over what you have. it's just miles ahead. All you need to do is get OcUK to stick a quad processor in there for you and you're sorted.

go to pc builds on site and customize to meet your needs, remember always have a good look at reviews and tech site performance specs to get best bang for buck.

How would i go about doing that?

its going to be a shame if i can't return this.

Give OcUK a call when they're open and they'll sort it out. I've always found their technical support to be fab. You should quote which system you're looking at and ask for a quad core CPU to go in instead, like a q6700. You could even point them towards this thread.

Live and learn eh. At least next time you know you can come here first!
