I want to learn how to rollerblade!

buy some blades that fit, get them 2nd hand. then go try, it really isnt that hard.

Just normal blading or aggressive?

given his question, i would assume that he has never bladed before, otherwise he would have some clue about what blades to buy..

Have you done it before? How interested are you in doing it?

I thought I was years ago but decided to buy some from Argos which were heavily reduced. I found I didn't really like it as much as I thought I would and am glad I only spent £25 on them.

I'd get some cheap ones, or borrow a mate's spare set for a while, and then see how you like it and then invest in your own pair :)

'Normal' blading i guess...just something different that makes it easier for me to get around instead of cycling. Ie: Blading to the shops or whatever. :p

Okay, a cheap pair...but not too cheap obviously? Budget of around £30? I guess it would be better to try and find a shop in the high street otherwise i may have sizing issues...

I skate aggressive. Have been doing it for 7 years and still love it. Rollerblading is a great sport, its just a shame that it isnt popular as it was. Its a more underground sport now.

Get yourself over to www.ukskate.com for skates/tips/forums/news etc

Ive just made a purchase of a decent set of Blades, Thanks to Gonzo0 for the helping hand over MSN.

Mark.

Mmm, I've got a pair of Salo Pro ST's I bought the other christmas looking to start of skating again, but never really did, not touched them for a year now, might get them out this week and stick some new wheels on them.

No one I know rolls anymore so it's kinda hard to get motivated.

Go to your local skating rink, i dont know if everywhere has theses, i know colchester does.

Go at a non-peak time to avoid all the chavs and rent a pair of skates and get going :D

I have a pair of anarchy skates, never went on blades before, just put them on and skated round a local flat carpark....then also got some hockey sticks and a ball and got a nice chat from the police about playing inline hockey in the carpark...jist of it was 'careful, you dont want to damage a car, or yourself on a car' - never told us off. :D

Haven't used mine in about a year, will probably take them back to uni with me, to either flogg them or make getting to uni a bit easier than walking, and cheaper than taking the car.

I got mine online, as they were cheapest, and not many places around me sell blades, but mine looked cool online, but are quite big and bulky, but once used to them they are great...other than looking like you have HUGE feet. :D

Can still learn on aggressive skates and get straight into it, thats what I did.

Just pick up some cheap Salomons and make sure they're aggressive, that way you have the option of going to a skate park also.

Chrisss are you also a member on the ol' ukskate forums?

I haven't even thought about skating for years! I started on Roces Romes although the White Majestics were always my favourite. :) Only thing I would say about the actual learning is to simply get out there, give it a try and don't be afraid to fall because sooner or later you will whatever you do! :p

Mmmm Majestic Twelve 13's. I had to make do with a modified pair of Roces Street's.

Nearly bought a new pair last year, damn this thread, now I'm contemplating it again.

Give them to me! I grew out of my STI Teams a good while ago and would love to get back into it! I skated for around 6 years in total; starting with roller hockey and eventually getting into the 'death wellies' when the local club went under.

I still to this day walk past some of the stair sets I used to clear and wonder how I never killed myself :D

Still rolling on my custom Razor Shima 6's, pretty much destroyed now lol, need new frames, liners and soul plates :(
