I want to preorder GTA4 and COD4 but which system?

PS3 probably, although I'll wait for the reviews until I put my order in.

Want to play it in piece and quiet really and don't fancy risking the disc melting/getting chewed.

Not really excited over the prospect of having to pay money for a few extra side quests either.

as i have had a pretty Lag Free experience on the PSN, and often quite bad on xbox live.
It's not Live and PSN it's the fact some people can't host what they try to.

That will affect any online gaming service.

Anyhow, 360 for GTA4 and whatever for CoD4, though the PS3 has horrific 'triggers'.

Project Gotham Racing 4 (X360)
Unreal Tournament III (PlayStation 3)
Grand Theft Auto IV (X360)<---Dunno why, But I feel like I've betrayed sony :(
Bioshock (X360)
Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter (XB 360 HW)

Total: 219.95 GBP

I'm poor now :p

I'll prob get COD4 on PS3 (I like the Pad better ;))

I would personally rather play GTA on PS3 as I am sooo used to the controller on this series that it would be a learning curve all over again to switch (not that I even have a 360 anymore).

Ask yourself these two questions though:-

1, What bothers you more.

A, Console noise.
B, Slight jaggies.

2, Which controller do you prefer for each game - if it's a game you are really used to then you may want to stick to the controller you used for previous iterations of the franchise. I.e. if you had previous GTA games on Xbox then get GTAIV on 360 - if however you have played them all on PS2 and you are not too worried about the DL content then get it for the PS3.

It's a balancing act really and down to personal choice.

I don't think console noise or slight jaggies really should be bought into it, the 360 has additional content the rest of the differences don't really matter aside from the controller.

Also we don't know if the GTA4 on PS3 will have slight jaggies in comparison to the 360, both could or the 360 could end up worse, then again so could the PS3.

If you're that bothered about the jaggies wait for the reviews to roll in, they'll compare.

Unlike MGS on the Gamecube I think the transition of GTA from PS2 to Xbox was pretty decent controls wise, I'm happy with both.

I was being sarcastic with question 1, as it's the only thing that seems to be said about each system on these forums - 360 is noisey and PS3 has jaggies etc.

I think if you have any interest in the epsiodic content then the 360 version is your only choice, if not I'd wait and see to nearer release and look at some reviews for both versions.

Maybe some people would rather play splitscreen with their mates on a large HD TV with a decent sound setup on a nice comfy/couch that sit a few inches away from a monitor.

Yes I know your joking :p its only when you masturbate a kitten dies, not play fps.
Was indeed a joke - I much enjoy Call of Duty 3 vs my brother on a wide screen telly. But personally I do think - for single player at least - PC is far, far better for FPS's  Just the whole keyboard/mouse setup is much nicer in my opinion :)

But saying that, if Crysis/Bioshock don't run well enough on my PC I'll just get them on 360 instead..!

PC's can't use 5.1 or 7.1 now?

Also I can hook up my PC to a 42" downstairs for 1920x1080. :D

I find my executive leather PC chair just about as comfy as my couch, which is also awesome-ly comfy. I'm just as comfortable gaming both ways tbh! :)

didnt say that a pc couldnt have surround sound or whatever, I'm not that stupid.

I'm just saying that in general, people boast about their home entertainment systems here (console forums) than they do about their pc setups.

Well usually it costs more for an entertainment system, where as for a PC you only need the speakers and a soundcard to get them to work, which can be very cheap to come by especially if you use onboard.

It's so cheap for PC I don't even think it's worth boasting about.

GTA IV pre-ordered for Xbox 360.

I'm planning to pre-order CoD for Xbox 360 as well.

I hesitate to order many multi-platform games for the PC in recent times. I'm getting fed up of buggy PC releases and/or having to spend more time and money on maintaining a decent PC to play games on.
