Howzit guys,

I've got a dual boot running with, Linux and Windows 7 beta. Working fine.

Now, I really want to use the Linux more however a few ( what seems like simple things ) that I cannot do in Linux are stopping me from machine the switch over. And there they are;

1. I need to have access to the works server. In windows, all I do is open the run command and type in. '\\server1'. This works perfectly. How do I do the same in linux?

2: I need to open remote desktop connections over VPN, is this possible in Linux?

3. I tried setting up my emails with evolution mail, which needs to connect to the Microsoft Exchange server we have. I did have this working a while ago, using the IMPA settings, rather then just Microsoft Exchange...

I'm running, Ubuntu 8.10.

I'm also trying to install new themes, that have like a transparancy effect...cannot come right with that but the above is more important.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Why would there be no need to update Linux? ( I'm almost done anyway, lol might as well let it finish )

Well, I see Ubuntu 9 is in beta, worth downloading it?

Secondly, I remember seeing a list of Useful Applications for Linux....where is it now? :(
