I want to work for Google

90% of my programming problems are solved in my dreams - I have a pad and paper for that very reason - to jot down ideas when I wake up. If I can't progress past a problem within 30 mins of encountering it, it gets shelved until the next day and I'll work on something else.

Pretty cool way to work actually. Now if I could just learn to sleep with my eyes open! ;)

My wife's brother had an programmer interview with google. Bit of a shambles really, the laptop they gave him didn't work and the person who was meant to be interviewing him was out of the country.

I did wonder if the broken laptop was an initiative test though!

I don't there's a reason it's so well stocked, they never want you to leave the building/stop working!

A lot of people actually DO sleep there, hence all the facilities.

Not sure how much I want to work in a place where I am almost expected to work all hours to a point i have to stay over.

If the pay was good enough, it's OK. Do it for a few years, retire a little earlier.

Compare that to Apple's London offices... there isn't even a canteen! Still looks nice but just like any other office really.
