I was a contestant on Dragons Den

He could've said that, but I'm wondering if laptops were powerful enough at the time, to run his program? What year was this done?

In any case, the real nail in the coffin was Bannatyne had got the technology for free and ended up throwing it out. The moment Bannatyne said that, even an interested Dragon would've withdrew his interest.

Was done in 2008 I think, my Dad's laptop from 2007 could run CS:S alright. Depends how good the graphics actually were.

Its britboy.

Nobody believes this right ?

This is one of britboy's most believable stories and is true. He loves attention and what better way to get it than to appear on Dragon's Den?

It does seem a bit weird that he didn't have a proper demo set up with a bike for them to have a go on, maybe with a laptop shelf bolted to an exercise bike. It's probably just a UT mod he printed out with a render of a bike on it along with some cables in a bag he got with a TV.

To be fair I'd say it was a good idea, it's what all the motion sensor type stuff is buying into, making exercise fun.

Even have a separate processing unit rather than a PC, hook it up to your plasma TV, introduce race type scenarios or some kind of mode where you can progress/try harder to win a race etc etc.

It is a perfectly good idea but he failed at delivering what the product can do and was generally terrible at explaining what it does and its capabilities.

Incentive is the biggest point to be had here. Making people want to exercise instead of making it feel like a chore.

It was a bloody stupid idea.

The magnet on the pedal?

How on earth is that going to work out the gearing or resistance and equate that into speed?

Or was this intended for those really gash machines that are practically pedals on a frame? If so, bloody stupid idea. :p

You never know, Britboy could be running a successful business by now (2-3 years on). Has anybody heard from Britboy, why isn't he commenting on this thread?

I would love to know if he pursued this idea and if so, where has it led.

Fair play to him going on but the idea was hardly Edison-esq, sometimes I wonder if they let people on just to rip them like they do on x factor to make it a bit more entertaining.

We brits love mock a failure

So, did anything come of this business idea?

He sold 130 without any marketing...was he able to get funding?
It has been 1.5 years since he did that...has this idea progressed?

- I made up I sold 130 units
- I made a loss on the whole thing
- DD got me about 300,000 web hits in 24 hours .. anyone that thinks that is bad business is silly
- Sold about 43 grands worth
- Everything I said about the program is true. It always is :)
- I didnt set up a bike and show it running because I couldnt be bothered to carry a bike and PC down to fleet street.

Strange thing to do seeing as you're show casing your idea to potential investors
