So i went out for a cruise last night, around town, like you do. i usually drive past clubs and other busy areas.

Anyways, i saw a fight right outside a club, so i just stopped and watched it. i saw 2 guys, 1 with bust nose and the other guy was pinning him down. People were picking money/wallet up from the floor which the bust nose guy must have dropped while they were fighting.

Now this is probably a "normal" scene when you go out round town, theres always fights, especially where i live.
Heres the funny bit; The bouncers were just stood at the door, watching. They didnt stop the fight (i would had thought they would). I was still watching, as you do, not realising i was blocking traffic by stopping on the one way

I was watching for a good few minutes before a taxi driver asked me to move so the POLICE car a few cars behind me could see the fight and stop it. So i swiftly pulled up to the side of the road and thought id see how the police deal with it. Guess what? They drove to where i stopped orignally, saw the fight, looked at them for about 10 seconds? and then proceeded to drive past me in my parked car. I rolled down my window, and said "officer, there fighting over there, cant you see all the blood.....there still fighting, aint you going to stop them?"
he replied "i havnt heard any complaints" smiled and proceeded on his way.

The bouncers wouldnt do anything if it was out side the club any where, as for the police, that was just poo.

Tell me you are-

1. Lying
2. In America and not the UK
3. Something out of a movie...

Are you serious?

Roughly the level of commiment to the job that I'd expect of the police. But then you didn't rush to call them either. Society gets the policing it deserves?

Hmm, i suppose so....but that still doesnt justify what they did. What happens if that was you? You was just out and about, having a good night, when some chav starts a fight?

EDIT: Am completely serious.

Thats pretty FU right there, but then what were you doing sitting there just watching the fight? I mean were you on some level getting a kick out of watching it?

Ummm people do that all the time . Morbid sense of curiosity probably. I suppose the people watching the fight were on some sort of level then.

Yes, the Police could, and maybe should have done something, but more often than not a fracas like that will peter out itself. If the coppers had dived in it might have got out of hand and resulted in arrests, cue the coppers stuck behind desks filling out reports and a lad spending the night in the cells.

The fact he was watching it doesn't mean he was enjoying it. People stop to watch the results of accidents/house fires/etc but that doesn't mean they're there for kicks.

The people at the fight my be connected to the fighters in some way. Dont get me wrong, I get the whole slow down as you pass an accident thing. But parking and watching for 5min like its a peep show seems strange to me.

i didnt really get a kick out of it, no. i was waiting for the bouncers to pounce or do something. i mean, they were fighting outside the doorstep, near the bouncers feet. I at least thought the POLICE would stop it, seemed they wanted to watch it too?

Well yeah, it would be just unacceptable for a police officer to have to do his job.

Unfortunately thats been me twice, once getting smacked around with a bottle, luckily someone did call the police but apparently they took over an hour to respond, by which time I'd scared half of manchester by walking to the hospital with blood pouring out of my head like a waterfall, the second time getting smacked with a claw hammer. Why people can't just ask for my wallet first......

Both times the police were useless. But of more concern was the people who just sat by and let it happen.

Jumping in the car and driving round town of an evening seems strange to me. Not having a go, just don't get it.

Huh? Imo a Coppers job is being out on the beat dettering crime or maybe even catching bad guys, not filling out a report for a stupid fight that was going nowhere.
