I WON on a self service checkout!

the tills get counted each morning and have a printout of the nights transactions, the till will be quite short and will have the time printed out on the printout as to when the till was short.

then go back onto cctv to said time and it will show the person on the till.

then go onto the camera on the front door and it will show the person coming back in and out.
They don't even need to do this actually - on the new self service systems, the CCTV is digitised and indexed with every single transaction. You can open up an interface, scroll down a time line of transactions and it will show you the relevant CCTV

Not exactly the same, but people are always leaving 50p, 60p, £1 in the vending machine, hence free food :) I am not a scavenger

Yeah the thing is if it was the self service at fault it would be every single person who used that till that night not just the op, so doubt the bloke who goes back for the pack of chewing gum after buying something is gonna set off alarm bells to be honest.
So saying they will get a printout will probably just show every single transaction getting stuffed up not just the Ops, unless he goes around with weird devices to stick to the side of it etc. And if each wrong transaction is indexed well it will most probably be indexed with everyone else who used that machine that night getting double change also.
Plus if the till has been loaded incorrectly surely it will show everyone getting the correct change not the actual amount they got? The only way they will know it is wrong is at the end of the day when they try and balance up what that till took?

Then you will also know the police wont care :p

I'd have probably done the same :p

I start work at 7am so the lockers are always empty, always find a pound or two people have forgotten about it's ace :p

that as well :)

Your enthusiasm for your place of work is dropping rapidly i've noticed :p

Most of my time is spent planning dastardly revenge on all that profit from the shop/business.
I see it as imprisonment & slavery & I am the victim. :p
My plots to topple the empire are akin to an old Batman episode though but I am held back by the lack of TWACK, BAM & POW symbols. :(
When I changed the signs to resemble my Batman theme they didn't like them, ******** + :p

*Warning*
Night work does strange things to you. :D

I've found a few quid a couple of different times, it's great.

As for the OP, I would do it once and keep the change but not sure I'd keep going back. Probably tell whoever was in the car though and get them to do it as well though.

The first is fair play, their mistake and no member of staff at the till for you to query it with.
But then doing it again deliberately... not so fair play.
