are you any good with photoshop? if so take a screen shot of that dananddave site and replace each bit with your own content. if someone was to design your site like theirs i can't imagine what would go in the key spaces based on what your current site has.

What Mammalian is doing is taking their design and applying your content to it. It's a test that forces a customer to decide what content they want where and shows up any holes that aren't filled.

So yep, some sort of layout sort of covers it

it's an expression engine site. Steven I'm sure that we had a conversation last year about this. I use Wordpress and the 3.0 update brings with it some serious changes. I feel that with some changes you could get a site more to your liking but your budget is quite small. Perhaps you should look at changing the content yourself, links to youtube, facebook, twitter etc.

Hosting from tsohost is a good start, but I can see that you could tweak it a bit from their side...

£200-300 will not get you anything better than a premium theme, slight modification and using a free CMS.

If you want something totally bespoke and perfect for your needs then you will have to start saving. But for now what I have suggested would be a great fit

I have totally redone and gone down the WP route, check it out now... No where near finished yet as my own content and so forth has not been put up.

I'd ensure that video doesn't autoplay. Nothing worse than opening tabs and not knowing where this distracting noise is coming from.

excellent - well you asked for this...
turn gzip on via tsohost, will compress the website and reduce your bandwidth.
no rss feed? that's because you aren't using wordpress to post news or similiar items, so the rss feed doesn't work. Have a news page, post some news, you then get rss feed to use...
use the wp-supercache plugin, you get a speed increase and you can configure a mobile theme as a free bonus!
permalinks - you haven't changed them...change them as you get better seo and more readable and distributable page url's, it's in settings>permalinks
+1 for the video's not autplaying, and maybe a welcome page to set up the website rather than diving into videos?
use sitemap-xml plugin...helps search engines find you and as a bonus submits the site to google, ask, bing (though you're indexed already by them...)
remove the testing tweet...
when you remove the player, your first post has a link to the admin login page...
there are a multitude of plugins I feel you should install...just ask and I shall post...
