Sorry about the first post I forgot your only allowed to buy from overclockers here. Anyway my budget is about £500 and I'd just like to know if everything is compatible and if I could get anything better for under £500. It doesn't need to run the latest game but I'd like to play thing like TF2. It's mainly for general use an programming because i'm doing comp sci at uni in september.

i3 or i5 ;)

yeh i would go with either this or an AM3+ build in preperation for either a ivy bridge or BD upgrade in the later half of the year if you save
 
Thanks for the ideas I'll have more money but the money I'm saving up is to take to uni as well but I reckon I'll be able to spare an extra £50 if it'll make a significant difference in performance.
 
You could get a student account for uni, interest free overdraft or you could get a fantastic machine on finance, then pay it up when you want.
