i3 for gaming?

Whilst I don't have chance at the minute I will have a look when I get home from work. In the meantime, I would suggest making a new thread in the general hardware section you will get a bigger response from that subforum.
 
Have you searched for Steam Machine pre-built systems? Some small cased models near your budget, but won't included Windows if you needed dual boot beyond Steam OS.
 
I think I saw the thread in general hardware at some point, much better choice than the Alienware at that budget point anyway :)
