Hi guy's n Gals

Had a bit of a google and still not seeing a definitive answer and didnt find any previous here either.

Anyways the query is does the i5 2500k have hd2000 or hd3000 gfx onboard? cpu-z says hd2000 intels own cpu id says unknown (typical )

Gpu-z says it's a GT2 & has 12 shaders but it doesnt have a clock freq

So "the truth is out there" Lol somewhere i guess but thought someone here might just know the answer

Thx guys, theyre not a bad chip, not as much of an upgrade as i'd hoped (came from q9400) just fiddlin about and wondered if cpuz was fibbing as per my op

Have you overclocked it? This is where the "K" series Sandy Bridge CPUs come into their own. You'll get 4.5GHz without much fuss on good cooling.

On air with an aftermarket cooler.

The stock cooler will probably get you to 4.0GHz or so before the temperatures get too high.

Yes sorry should have been more specific. The included Intel cooler is fine at just above stock speeds. But as Surveyor correctly states, anything over 4GHz-ish the temps will be too high to go any faster.

hell yeah! be rude not too :D

at 4.6 showing 1.34v temps around 48-50c

If that's full load temps , what cooler is that ? I want one

Just to add to that my temps are from using the corsair A50, not a small cooler either!

Just spotted your last post lol, I take it that's not full load temps then. What are your max temps running LinX or Prime ?

There are plenty of decent affordable coolers, especially for the 2500K which runs cooler due to the lack of HT. The Gelid Tranquillo and Zaward Vapor 120 are two I'd recommend over the A50. The Zaward is a bargain but the mounting system can be over tightened, the Gelid is very quiet and has a better mounting system, but costs a bit more.

In answer to your q Daverfan,

Yep thats full load :D running rosetta crunching thingy, never tried linx but prime was ok, just dont ask me how long it ran cos i dont remember but it wasnt the sort of 8hr stint that some folk do.

Speed's right on the cooler front, i just copied one of Ocuk's bundles, if it was good enough for them . . . . plus my case ventilates quite nicely with 120's front & rear (7volted) and the supplied 120 on the A50.
