I personally think that you would notice a pretty good difference none of the AMD
processors can compete with the Intel processors at the minute, I have got the i5
and it runs like a dream, good if you want to Overclock as well, personally I don't
overclock but that's only because I don't need to.
I just got a 7950 and i wondering what CPU upgrade to go for. i5 2500k or wait for ivy bridge? I currently have a phenom II 955 OC @3.8ghz. How much performance gain will i get with a 2500k over my current phenom II?
I guess the real question is what games do you play, at what resolution, and is that being limited by the CPU or GPU? Raw processing power is only as useful as the programmes make it.
You have already waited this long another month and a bit wouldn't hurt.
I brought an 2500k with a ivy bridge supported motherboard. Ill wait a year or so and what see intel have out. Bound to be a more tweaked ivy bridge later on.
What motherboard? I think this is a really good idea. I'm on the market for a new rig but can't wait for IB so an 2500k sounds brill for now.
