i5 3570K Overclock Help

You should get the 20a mod 3 bios from tweak town. From my testing it is by far the most stable and allows me to maintain a stable over clock with a bit lower voltage. No whea 19 errors or anything.

So all the BSOD I got is related to overclock and not hardware?

Also should I use RAM X.M.P profile or manually set it to 16?

yes I would say so,and yes you can enable x.m.p if your memory supports it;)

@vfdb

trouble with beta bios's ive found is after a while it doesn't apply any bios settings and they all read auto in the bios yet its still clocked to what you've clocked it to

doesn't happen on the final bios, atleast for the z77 up4 th

@the op you can try it if you want though you can always flash back

tbh I don't use prime I don't have the patience for it,i just do 5 runs in intel burn test (id suggest standard test for you) if it passes then I play games to see if any whea warnings parity 19 errors crop up in event viewer,if they do I add some more dvid till they don't appear

It's been fine for me, it also fixes some fan issues I was having with an older bios :)

The f21 bios messed around with the audio on my board making it not detect a microphone.

The motherboard BIOS was F18 and then I flashed F19G from the Gigabyte website but it says Beta BIOS, which version should I use?

I'll give Intel Burn Test a try, how long does it take for 5 runs?

bout 10-15 minutes tops, dont do higher stress than standard though as it will get too hot for your cpu,ive delidded mine
I've ran 5 runs in Intel Burn Test and finished within 3 minutes, no errors

I'm now running Prime95 and Core Voltage in CPU-Z shows 1.332V, 1.320V and 1.308V keeps changing, maximum temperature in RealTemp is 76°C

EDIT: Windows popped up saying Prime95 has stopped working after 30 minutes, so I've restart the stress test

Got a BSOD after 30 minutes in the second test in Prime95, I use BlueScreenView and it says KMode Exception Not Handled, what does it mean?

DVID is at +0.020V

you gotta change your llc to at least medium,or probably high,it stops whats called v droop, drop your dvid back to say +0.010 and up llc to high you need to keep as close to 1.332 as you can,in other words, when under load your core voltage drops down,by upping llc it will lesson this issue.

ps,keep an eye on your temps, you might need to go up to 1.35v to get stable.Try and keep temps below 80*c if you can.
If things run too hot you may have to admit defeat and drop your speed down to 4.3ghz,mine runs sweetest at 4.3ghz running at 1.272v,above that voltage and temps creep up too high for my liking.

Your far too bothered about Torturing the silicon!!! Prime etc are not everyday applications. Just use you PC to find out how stable it is and adjust from that point.

30 mins Prime passed as you saw!!! Is enough!!

could be not enough cpu v still

I would leave stressing now and use pc as normal, any bsod's that crop up try and catch the error code

or look in event viewer for any whea warnings/errors relating to cpu parity 19 or memory and adjust dvid/imc voltage to suit till 0 warnings/errors crop up(gaming is a good test for those errors)
