i5 4690k - Running hot and uneven

Just got a 4790K of eBay and used the Asus AI Suite to automatically overclock - just to see what range I could expect from this CPU. Automated OC stopped at 5Ghz for 2 cores and 4.9 for 4. Very, very nice! Will be delidding as the temps ran a bit high under stress testing, as in the 90-95c range. Gaming the temps stay at 60-64c.

Hoping I can maybe get another .1 Ghz out of delidding but main objective is just to get the temps down a bit.

The comments about the case are def' valid but only in the sense of heatsoak from the gpu and cpu cooler when both are under a high workload. In open air or from a cold boot up, if your cpu temps are spiking from say 30c idle to immediately 80-90c then it's simply the tim between the cpu die and ihs. Strapping the biggest cooler will not solve the problem, i have seen it with my friends 4790k.
He had to delid apply colab and then saw massive temp drops using the same h110 .

If it spikes to 55-60c instantly and then gradually heats up then it's clear that both case air flow and cooler are not a good match

Overclock the proper way in the bios. These auto overclock tools can use way too much voltage. How much vcore is it applying for your 4.9ghz overclock?
