i5 @ 4ghz bundle only running at 2.8ghz

Hi all,

first post here so hello. I installed this bundle yesterday, and it seems to be running ok accept its only running at 2.8ghz.

Im not an overclocking wizard like you guys, so im not sure whats up. Any help appreciated,

Hi Matt, If you go into BIOS then press F12 and load in one of the OCUK profiles. One of them should be 4Ghz.

When you press F12 to load profiles you will see them listed. Should be two OCUK profiles.

Hi again,

F12 just takes me into a boot menu (select boot device).

Del takes me into the BIOS, but I have looked far and low and cannot see any ocuk profiles. Looks like everything is set to auto!

Do you see an option to load the profiles though? If so are any of them filled or do they all say unused (Or similar)?

If I were you I'd just ring OcUK, they'll help you out over the phone.

Ahhh I found the profiles! I didnt realise you had to press F12 once inside the bios ( how embarresed am I).

Looks like im now running at 4010.2MHz !!

What temps are you getting?? At 4ghz i was getting in the high 90's so im getting a watercooler later today.

Idle it is sitting around 49c, and when I run Super Pi around the 70s.

Strange thing though, there is this strange sound like running water when I run super Pi? Is that the cooler? :confused:

So them temps arent bad then? The idle is quite high imo but the load is very good for 4ghz

I did yes, the cooler was sealed in its box, where as the mobo/ram/cpu was all setup.

The cooler was a bit fiddley, but not too difficult to fit !

I must say though, I just ran prime 95 and the temps rocketed...

im sure superpi is only a single threaded benchmark, run intels linpack or a good 15mins of prime95, come back with your load temps
