i5 760 vsi5 2500k

a lot better clock for clock?

no there is almost nothing between the two clock for clock, was just about to say 'come on people at least show a valid comparison' instead of posting the typical Anandtech benchmarks, but yeah clock the older one to the same clock speed and the difference is absolutely not worth even considering upgrading for, the only reason the 2500K is better is because its clocked higher at stock.

worth noting that if you are indeed someone obsessed with power consumption then the Sandy Bridge processors are unbeatable, but that alone isn't worth changing set-up over. :p

running an i5 750 as per sig and i have yet to find anything that causes it to struggle. can't imagine i'll have any real need to upgrade for at least 12months
