Just need some quick advice so i can place a order...

upgrading from my fx6300 to:

looking at the above build to go with my
Corsair Enthusiast Series TX750M High Performance 750W '80 Plus Bronze' Modular Power Supply
GTX780ti ( upgrade next year)

all to fit into aero case LS5200

will the cpu cooler and MOBO upto over clocking to 5ghz if the cpu is a good one?

Yes the CPU cooler and motherboard can do 5ghz, but it depends on the silicon lottery of the CPU.

Yes. 3000mhz/3200mhz is the best price/performance.


If you don't need absolutely need the lightning you can save 20 pounds with the Vulcan T-Force set (same CL timings as blue LED set)

Or if you want more colour options than just blue, get the RGB set:

I would go with the Cryorig R1 Universal as it has 100% ram clearance. It looks nicer as well if you have a windowed case.

If you want to stick with Noctua then I would go with the D15S as this also has 100% ram clearance.

You can move the fan up on the D15 but you might not have enough clearance before you hit the side panel. Anything over 32mm won't fit under the front fan in it's standard location.

The Grey TeamGroup Vulcan above should fit under no problem though.​

i do have a windowed case but wanted the best performance i could get really but the cryorig should be ok for over clocking?

One of the best z370 boards . Better quality VRMs matches by Asus apex and taichi.
Best on board audio out of the z370 and only.matched. Y Asus X399 zenith - thought it takes some work to Google the DACs
And another beefy cooler from bequiet which is ... Quiet

unfortunately thats a long way out my price range...

Ive actually now started looking at the 8400 and thinking it maybe enough for me as i only play 1080

true, seems a lot of users went for the Ultra - have the K3 version so lacks all the bells and whistles but find it great!

the 8400 is a cracking chip, some review sites have it pegged as intels second best chip to performance and dollar ever. Haven't quite got around to benching mine yet .
clock speeds still match that of overclocked ryzens haha, can work with 4000hz ram kits too , if you've got the cash or luck of pcb
if speed is key then i3 8350 K clocked at 4.8Ghz will do you fine

its mainly better frames in games im looking for a currently have a OC fx6300 at 4.5 and its not great..

i thought the 6 core 8400 would be more future proof than the i3

I think the 8400 would be more future proof, yes. You can also go for the budget ~£110 motherboards with 8400, no need at all for the higher end ones. Can also use the stock cooler if needed, but I would recommend a £30 air cooler.

i have a 212 evo on my 6300 maybe i could reuse that?

what speed ram is worth using? do you think i need 16gb?
 
16gb ? for gaming slightly better, for productivity apps def better, video def .. but, if only for gaming and occasional office tasks 8gb is still plenty, heck its easy enough to go with 4gb .. can save a large chunk of money 16gb vs 8gb

The issue with 8GB now is that some games do use more than 8GB RAM and multi-tasking whilst gaming will struggle with 8GB. If you wanted to buy another set later there might be issues sourcing the exact RAM set and matching properly.
Also, the prices for 8GB sets aren't 1/2 the cost a 16GB set - they usually cost ~£20 above the 'real' half-way point.
