i5 9600k + RTX 2080 Ti bottleneck?

Just the cost alone. If one can afford a 2080 Ti, then might as well pair it to the right cpu to make it a more balanced system. In extreme cases where the op will defo not play multi-threaded games, then fine.
 
Battle Field 5 it has been said, Hardware Unboxed i think, that the 9600K suffers a little from stutter, certainly if you look at this slide is looks like the 6 thread 9600K and 8 thread 7700K do suffer in its low FPS in this title. Even the Ryzen 1600 gets better Min FPS.

I mean it may not be too much of an issue right now but the signs are there that the 9600K really is at its limits. If you're looking at a replacement CPU in this price range now the Ryzen 3600 or higher clocked 3600X is inarguably the best choice.

Jeeez calm down you lot, it's Christmas :D

To re-iterate, I play at 1440 and want as close to 144fps as I can get, on modern games. I also use this box for simulation work that requires decent CPU, so I'll certainly use it.

I've ordered a 9900KS for delivery on Sat, so I'll let you know how I get on, :)
