Get the UD2 Motherboard and with the change buy another HDD to run in RAID-0

You'll notice the difference :D

also, why not buy the OEM CPU and spend the change on the Artic Cooler Rev 2. Even if you don't overclock it runs quieter

I think you should just gor for your original spec. It's top notch and hard drives are something you can upgarde at anytime in the future. But motherboards are more long term and not upgradable without emptying your pocket all over again. Keep the higher spec motherboard for more overclocking in the future.

Besides Raid-0 isn't advisable to a n00b lol.

thanks i ahve ordered the original anyway and its been shipped :)

Just a quick note about overclocking... I have the same motherboard, and Core i5, an with that motherboard you get OC Genie feature... it's a button on the motherboard- you push it, and then you're overclocked. Simple.

Took me from stock to 3.6GHz just like that. I don't really need to go higher at the moment, everything is so fast...

I'm using a Corsair H50, and the temps I get are ~20-25 Degrees C when generally using the computer (web browsing, listening to music, MSN etc) and up to 50-55% when stressing the system with Prime 95 for ages.

When gaming (Crysis max settings) it goes to about... 30-40?

Buy a Corsair H50 imo, or a Megahalem air cooler, then you can overclock and boost your performance very easily using the simple OC Genie feature, or in future you can take it to 4GHz and get very fast speeds.

specc slighlty modifioed as previous ram selected was to high voltage.
