Hi guys

Iv been having a few problems with my pc for the past few weeks. I notice when i run games i get freezes and also when i type in a browser or notepad i get cursor lags like its taking a while for the writing to catch up on screen to when i type.

Iv just ran a prime stress test and im getting the following error.

Is my CPU knackered ?

Any help would be appreciated.

CoreTemp seems to think it IS at stock (if you scroll right far enough) which is rather at odds with CPU-z.

Lamentably I don't know enough to offer advice beyond "Doesn't look good" :/

Try running stock speeds?

This and to make sure you are running all at stock, reset the BIOS back to factory settings. It could be a bad setting in the BIOS if you have been tinkering with overclocking. Then run Prime again and if it still fails, check if there is a BIOS update for your motherboard and again test at stock settings on the new BIOS, if it fails again then you are going to have to troubleshoot that pc.

Troubleshoot :-

Check PSU is working fine and you have made sure the CPU power cable on the motherboard is plugged in right.

Check all connections inside your case.

Check your ram and other expansion cards are sat into the motherboard correctly, re-seat them just to be sure.

Run Memtest on your RAM and also use Windows Ram tester too. Just run both to be 100% sure it's not Ram.

If these things don't help and you see the same error, try removing the CPU cooler and CPU and check for bent pins on the CPU socket and check under the CPU if there is any burned or damaged pads.

BUT DO 100% check your PSU is 100% right, a bad PSU can make a system throw many different errors and make it look like other things are going bad. So if you can borrow a PSU do that and if you know someone with a system that takes your CPU ask them if you can run your CPU on their setup as a test (make sure to save their BIOS settings 1st and reset the BIOS to factory again).

Also as a test remove things you dont use in the system like harddrives and cd/dvd roms, case fans etc .. just to give the PSU more headroom if it is going faulty and causing this error for you.

Thanks for the advice guys

I have had success so far by upping the voltage for the cpu as it was running at stock, iv got it clocked at 4.4 now with a voltage of 1.4. I will decrease it slightly to lower temps and get it stable.

Ill run it overnight see if it kicks up anymore errors.
