i received my Krypton Z68 600i Intel Core i5 2500K 3.30GHz @ 4.60GHz Overclocked Bundle today and found that the overclock had not been set correctly and the chip was still running at 3.30 ghz. followed advice on these forums and talked to overclockers support, ran cpuz and prime95 , reloaded profile via bios and all seems ok. according to the cpuz software the i5 is running at 4.6ghz, but if this is the case why if i check my computer settings in windows it still tells me the chip is 3.30ghz???? is this to be ignored or is the mobo/chip faulty?

Windows I think reports the default speed of the cpu regardless if the pc is over clocked or not.

When you startup dose the post screen how the correct speed?

The CPU specification will always say 3.3ghz. You need to check what the multiplier is on with some software such as CPU-Z and make sure it says x46 not x33.

just checked again via cpuz and find that the speed seems to vary from 1600.2mhz to 4600mhz, the multiplier seems to switch from x16.0 to x46.0 is this normal behaviour? also the 'post screen' that is mentioned at startup, which is this? is it the asus startup screen that flashes up on booting?
