i5 vs Q6660?

I wouldn't bother upgrading from a Core 2 Quad to an i5-750 or even an i7 to be honest, unless you've got some specific task with which the current CPU is struggling. I'm managing just fine with an E8400 dual-core and am holding off upgrading as long as possible.

With regards to HT, apparently some games actually suffer with it enabled.

The i5 750 is a noticable improvement over the Q6600 and in general clocks a lot higher and is cooler running, etc, but not worth the upgrade IMO. I only ever really upgrade to the next technology (went from single to dual, and recently dual to quad (i5 :D)

you really need exsperience of a cpu before you can advise people to not buy it i think your just going on the bench marks rather than exsperience.

I didnt get that either:confused:
Well, ghop says the i5 is a noticeable improvement on the Q6600, but then goes on to say that he went from a dual to (quad) an i5. I was asking if he skipped the Q6600.

chippy08 then, quite rightly, pointed out the obvious flaw in his critique of the Q6600....:D
