Right, I currently have an i5 2500k and I'm wondering if it would be worthwhile to upgrade to a 2700k

I'd sell my i5 and I don't pay vat so I can get the i7 for around 180-190

Cheers

Depends what you use your rig for? If it is just for gaming then you'll notice next to nothing in terms of a performance increase.

If you do programming, run VMs, do video editing and encoding, etc then yes you'll notice a bit of a performance boost.

Might help with the video rendering side a little bit, but most games you won't see a difference and even when you do it'll be extremely minor (games aren't really cpu bound).

I went from an i5 to an i7 purely to give me an extra boost in Visual Studio and some heavily threaded apps I build but in games I didn't notice/feel any difference and that's with a GTX 680.
