i7 2600k Sandybridge may be dieing...

Thinking of buying a Sandybridge i7 2600k with Asus P8P67 Pro or deluxe Motherboard.

Im going to leave it at stock though for the time being so would it be ok at stock/auto or should i still set the Back clock to 100 just incase, even though il be keeping it at stock?

Sure i saw on a post that memory works fine when left at stock/auto?

Thanks

You should set BLCK to 100 manually as AUTO will use 100.3 or thereabouts

Really

I thought it was just for overclocking? So this thing doesnt even run stable even at stock?

Im thinking twice now

To be honest I personally think AUTO will be fine... basically Asus just push the BLCK a little to boost performance... If you are overclocking the last thing you want is the Motherboard doing a little extra that you can't see.

If you staying at stock, auto will be fine.

Hi Simon

Sorry the post you quoted was a reply to Loko, but thanks for replying anyway :)

I will be staying at stock for the time being but will set the BLCK to 100 manually just to be safe as it does go over 100 on auto as you say. Do you think that will be ok?

This post and all the rest regarding this issue has been very helpful indeed its put my mind at rest really so thanks!
