I swapped out the i7 5820k for a slightly newer i7 6850k earlier today and was surprised to see the stock uncore (ring bus) speed is just 2800MHz.... It's 3000MHz with a stock 5820k which has a lower core speed.
Does 2800MHz sound right for the i7 6850k uncore running stock? I can only seem to find oc'd results when I try and search for the stock speed.
EDIT: Also, my processor fails the Intel Diagnostic Tool test when I enable the XMP profile for my RAM in the BIOS (16GB Geil Dragon quad channel DDR4 3000 @ 1.35V CL14). It fails when it does the AVX tests, but passes if I run the RAM at 2133 or 2400 speeds with a lower voltage. The XMP profile raises the uncore from 2800MHz to 3100MHz. Bus speed remains the same at 100MHZ.
