i7 7700k XMP on

max core temp in Prime95 is 66 running blend test.

What cpu cooler are you using?

Hi am using custom water cooling loop ax480 quad rad and ek supremacy evo elite edition and EK D5 pump. i was expecting better temperatures for my water cooling setup but am going to use a Rockit 88 tool to delid my 7700K next week when it arrived hoping for 30c decreased in temperatures ;)

I doubt you'll see a 30 degree drop on all cores. Probably more like 16-20 degrees. Make sure you post your results. I have the same mobo and cpu so very interested in your results and testing in general.

Can you run x264 and tell me what temps you get?

You can find the download link on page 1 of the overclock.net skylake overclocking thread. I think forum rules prevent me putting a link up. Can trust msg if you can't find it...

Temps are much better. Out of curiosity I tried running small fft test in Prime95 and it failed. Takes 1.27vcore running at 4.5ghz XMP on to get Prime95 stable - test has been running for 4 hours as I type. I tried 1.26vcore but one thread failed after 41 min. Max temp is 72, although it doesn't break 60 when gaming.

Hi i done a other x264 stability test with XMP off 5 loops and get 59c temps and i noticed my core temp 0 and 1 are hotter then my core temp 2 and 3 when XMP is off but when XMP is on my core temp 2 and 3 is hotter then my core temp 0 and 1 do you get this when you enable and disable XMP settings ?

have you tried turning XMP settings off and test it with 1.25v or 1.26v vcore see if thread failed in Prime95 fft test

Changed CPU settings to normal in BIOS and applied a DVID value of -0.155. Max vcore with a x47 multiplier 1.284. Increasing multiplier to x48 results in max vcore of 1.36.

To go higher I must adjust the DVID value. Setting this to -0.050 got up to 5ghz so far with max vcore reading of 1.440. Feel like I can tweak this to reduce the max vcore readout and maintain clock, just need a bit more time.

XMP is on amd changed memory timing to 1t.

If temps arn't an issue, they sound nice and cool at mid 60's under load, then personally I wouldn't care, it's well within safe limits.

EDIT. And good god man, tidy your desktop up haha :D
