Hi,

I have my 920 currently clocked at 3.8ghz. My ram is Corsair dominator 1600mhz running underclocked. Cooling is true with one noctua 1200 fan. Motherboard is p6t deluxe.

Bclk : 181mhz
cpu : 1.20000v
dram : 1.66v
qpi : 1.35v

I ran OCCT for 2hr test, then I ran prime95 for 9hrs whilst in work with no problems. Temps idle 41/37/40/37. Load 76/72/74/71.

However when i up the Bclk to 190/191, and cpu voltage to 1.3v OCCT crashes around the 40-45 min mark. Load temps 85/82/83/79. So i am guessing that i need more volts, but i am not happy to do this as i dont really want higher temps.
I was wondering if it is normal to add so much more voltage for a 200mhz increase? Also would adding another fan to the True enable me to bring load temps down a few degrees so i can feel happy adding more volts?

Thanks,

Phil.

update:

I managed to get stable @ 4.0ghz cpu 1.27500v. Load temps during stress testing :83/82/79/78.

I upped the ICH/IOH from 1.1v to 1.2v.
I am going to knock the voltage down a notch at a time over the next couple of days to find out the true lowest stable cpu voltage.

update:

Sorry TB its been a couple of weeks.
I now have my cpu stable @ 4.0ghz 1.23125v. Load temps max 80/80/77/76.
I dont know my room temperature but it is quite warm in my room. Tshirt and shorts warm ha.
I have not had time to go lower and test yet. I will post again if i test stable with lower volts.

Very nice clock mate, while the temps are fine from safety point of veiw they seem really high for that Vcore case/cables getting good airflow?

I get 4ghz 1.3vcore= max temp 71
I get 4ghz 1.38=max temp 82

and that was in the hot weather we had breifly and small office.
