Hi lads, if this has been mentioned before Im sorry. I recently built my new rig, and decided to go up the bad boy to about 4.0Ghz. I have an Antec 1200 with all the fans running at full (yeah its noisy but hey what can you do), problem is...My cpu on idle is running around 38-45...for idle surely this is stupid right?

On full load after only doing like a 10 mins test. My cpu is sky rocketing to 70'c.

Can anyone tell me how to solve this problem, im sure the temps on idle and load should be lower right or am I being too optimistic. I have a H50 cooler on the i7, with a push and pull configuration.

Before i overclocked this, I had idle temps of 20'c beleive it or not on idle ofcourse, and 55'c or so on load.

Any information would be helpful. Also just a word of note, I got the per-overclocked bundle from overclockers. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-030-OE&groupid=43&catid=339&subcat=1333

All I did was replace the cooler with a H50. If anyone can tell me how do I switch back to normal default settings as in non overclocked, within the bios settings.

What's the problem exactly? i7's at 4ghz generally run 75-90C under load depending on ambient temperature, your idle temp looks fine.

nope the temps sound about right, mines under water and at idle at 4GHz hovers around the 40mark then goes upto mid 60s when stressing

Oh...sorry lads didnt know. Right second problem if you will please, how do I switch to normal settings in the bios settings? Like overclockers pre-overclocked my cpu. Surely there must be a way of switching to default / over clocked.

firstly, if you don't know what you're doing, don't do it! ;)

secondly, if it's an OCuk pre-overclocked system, there should be a profile saved, if there isn't a profile, you've changed them and you should've written them down 1st. if you mean putting the system back to 'stock', load default settings.

Thats what the guy at Overclockers told me to do. But I dont know how :/ never went into Bios. My motherboard is the Rampage Extreme II.

with my rig the cores idle about 38-41 and under load hit about 60-70 so dont worry mate, your temps are fine ;)
