Asus Rampage II Extreme
i7 940 @ 3.3ghz
Corsair H50-1
Corsair Dominator 12GB (6x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 (1600MHz) Tri-Channel

im on stock setting and have been for the last 3months, but used the bios (standard option to increase the CPU up one model) to up the CPU to 3.3ghz its been stable ever since seeing some hitting 4ghz i was wondering if anyone can help or give me any setting to hit 4ghz..

if at all possible ?

I may stand corrected here, but here are my calculations:

Core i7 940:

for 4GHz. BCLK then is: 4000 / 22 = 181 (using CPU Ratio 22).

The memory multiplier is 1666 / BCLK (1666 / 181 = 9.2) Use the nearest memory multiplier, which is 10. The nearest selectable option for DRAM Frequency will then be BCLK x 10 (181 x 10 = 1810). Select DRAM Frequency [DDR3-1810].

The Uncore multiplier should be greater than, or equal to, 2 x the memory multiplier: 2 x 10 = 20. Uncore Frequency is BCLK x Uncore multiplier (181 x 20 = 3620). Select UCLK Frequency [3620MHz]. The setting can also be left at [Auto].

QPI multiplier should be higher than the Uncore multiplier (Uncore : QPI = 10 : 11. The lowest QPI multiplier is 22 (44), which means a QPI frequency of (181 x 22 = 3982), which is higher than the Uncore Frequency. Select QPI Frequency [7964MHz] (44 x 181). The setting can also be left at [Auto].

then test
