i7 970 Availability

Looking to purchase a 980x and was wondering when the cheaper 970 is likely to appear? Any word on price?

Last we heard was Q3 so probably August and the price point was around £450 I think. Intel may have to change tack though with AMD releasing low cost hex core cpus.

Since the Hex core AMD struggles to beat an i7 920 @ stock settings I doubt if Intel will bother to compete on price.

I think i7 970 is not unlocked but the i7 980x are unlocked (both totally difference but it rather silly just for an extra £400+ for unlocked one)
