i7 970 only using 1 core

Ok installed new BIOS as another one had come out since. Uninstalled all the core's from device manager.

What I get now is every other core working! Time for a BIOS reset!

is it every other core? Or every other thread? It could be the hyperthreading
virtual cores that appear to do nothing...

windows does nothign most of the time and with the speed of modern CPU's you dont need many % cpu cycles to do what the OS wants... (as in basic OS background tasks)

you can download prime 95 to be sure they are all running,

check the games is supposed to be multi threaded, if it is maybe you need to tweak some game settings / configs...
