Hi guys.What are the idle temps for 975 using water cooling or fan cooling?I am using Alpha cool water cooling and its about 40-45 on the 4 cores when on idle and on load it even goes up between 50 to even 67.Pls post some temps so I can figure out what can I do to get my temps right so i can overclock it.

Hmm, those temps seem really high, this is at stock frequency, right?
People on here have lower idle temps that this on air when o/ced to 4GHz.
Maybe your block isn't seated properly, or you have used to much/not enough TIM??

I have been checking and i have got the water block positioned wrong not as said on the instructions.Now next Monday i am going to take the PC to a friend who build my PC and we are going to arrange the water block put some new thermal paste after that we will test the system and see if the temps will get any lower if not we will see in more detail the other components.Be back on Monday with some results hopeful. Thanks for the help 
Might be a little high on idle alright...
Running a stock 975 at the moment and after 24hrs of use, the idle temp on desktop is around 36-39deg across the 4 cores using a Corsair H50.
Thats having to drag around 12GB of Dominator memory as well.........haven't messed around too much with any overclocking yet, but a few runs of Prime have driven it up to around 55-60deg under load.
Will be trying out some MX-2 with the cooler whenever I can find the time and do a little more extensive testing (so I certainly wouldn't be certain about the load temps), but the idle temp certainly should be dropping a few degrees.

Hi guys.Well my temps got a little bit better went down to a 39 -36c idle .
Under load still goes up little bit about 57-64.I think that i didn't do enough Thermal Paste on the cpu.
Well If you got anymore temps Pls post them here so i can see the really idle temps and under load temp / overclocked too.

What's the weather like in Malta? I'd expect it'll be a bit warmer than the UK - which will account for a slight variance.
Also do you have the vcore voltage set to auto, you might be able to tweak it down a little - especially if you're not overclocking.

Well here is quite warm, room temp around 22-30.
Well later on I will try to overclock it at least to 4.3 or bit less but I need some sort of Core i7 975 with 6gb 2000mhz Dominator GT overclocking guide cause it will be my first time and I want to do right.

Mine has a slight over-clock to 3.6 and idle temps are 36-38°C using the Titan Fenrir
