Your better off with the Retail version as it will give you 3 year warrenty compared to the 1 year warrenty from the oem.
 
Its a good point on timing of graphics card purchase...I assume you are referring to new cards coming out? Was thinking I need to get going on the build, hence went for this card and can upgrade in 6-12months post new cards on the market. Seem logical? Or you think I get a massive hit selling the nvidia? Guess it depends on timing of new cards.
