I7 bundle testing

just read on the arctic silver site that im supposed to apply the compound in a short line across the chip, I just put a little spec in the center so am going to go and try this now.

followed the arctic silver instructions but it makes no difference, the temps do not seem to change wether I apply a small amount of compound or a large amount. has anyone any ideas? My youtube search did not help all I could find was results rather than videos/images of the compound being applied.

Are you allowing the AS5 to cure? personally id ditch AS5 and go get some MX2 or even ocz freeze, which don't require curing time, and honestly iv found to be far better aswell.

No I had not let the AS5 cure, is this required before stress testing? I have had a fiddle with the voltages and am now getting 80 degrees on full load @ 4.0GHz this seems to be a far more acceptable temp but why would OCUK ship it with a higher voltage than required?

OCUK will have shipped it with the higher volts to guarantee the overclock, temps might not have been a factor when they tested you pc because there ambient room temp could have been lower than yours.
Glad it's sorted now anyway mate, try playing Battlefield for an hour on one monitor & run core temp, cpuz, gpuz & task manager open on the other monitor so you can monitor temps of your pc, graphics card & cpu usage levels. Your temps playing the game should be much lower than Prime or IBT & it'll give you an idea of how your pc is preforming.

So now that I have my bundle stable at 4.0GHz and had to do some tweaking myself how much more tweaking would it take to test if I can get 4.2GHz? What would I need to change?
