Yes you can manually set voltage on these boards. Set LLC in digi vrm to 4 or 6, set current capability to 140%. When running a benchmark have core temp and cpuz open so you can check if its downclocking. So if its set at 4900hz does it remain there throughout. while you are testing and trouble shooting disable C-states in the advanced cpu tab and when in windows go to control panel type power options and select the performance tab instead of balanced tis will run everything at full so worse case scenario. you can change back after. out of curiosity what clocks are you running and at what voltage and what was your power draw??

When I do this and manually set the vcore to 1.250 I get a massive reduction in performance

Forgot to set the cpu clocks at 4.9 and 3.9, could that be the issue?

wow ok, you know its going to be something really simple!!! only one more thing i can suggest and thats go into cpu power management in bios and increase all power limits to max, theres 2 at 4096, 1 at 511amps and another around 480( this one drop down box) others just set just press any number 5 times and it will go to max value

It didnt make any difference. Now I have taken the vcore off manual and changed it to offset 0.08 and my score goes up to 27415 but so do my temps with 4 cores hitting 98c, so basically back where I started. very strange. PSU draw is now 252.

So I have set the offset to 0.1100.
Cinebench score is 24619k with 1.288 vcore and 233w draw.
Highest core temps are is 93c.

All in all I am happy with that. Will I see any real world performance difference gaming from 27k to 24k on Cinebench?

i suppose the thing to do then is go manual, start at 1.375v run bench, then back to bios drop 0.02v (1.355v)at a time run bench and repeat, it should crash not drop scores once it runs out of voltage. Never seen one do this, very strange behaviour

I will try that and see how I get in. Is there any issues running it they I currently have it set up?

What are you going to be using the system for? My Cinebench temps are 20c higher than gaming, in titles that stress the CPU a fair bit.

Gaming will be the most intense thing it will be used for. I ran COD Cold War for an hour last night and it was sitting around 60 to 65c on the pcores with peaks to 80c.

Those temps are fine but as it's winter I'd still be looking to lower them for the warmer months.

At the moment I run my 12900k with a NH-D15, undervolted (-0.06, not tried any lower yet) and PL2 restricted at 125W, as I will never need all cores maxed. The E cores will handle day to day tasks, mostly in Visual Studio, while the P cores will take care of gaming. I expect both core types to come in to play when running a couple of virtual machines, but I doubt I will ever need more than the 125W limit provides. Cinebench R23 just hits 25k while the CPU doesn't pass 60C. CP2077 pushes the GPU up to 61C, while the CPU naps. The system remains silent throughout.

I'll have a look at setting the vcore sometime in the near future.

Those temps look awesome. How do you set the PL2?

I'm new to the 12900k myself having just moved up from a 3770k. PL1/PL2 will be in the BIOS, PL meaning Power Limit. I'm using the Maximus Hero board which has - Extreme Tweaker > Internal CPU Power Management > Long Duration Package Power Limit(PL1) & Short Duration Package Power Limit(PL2). Both by default, on this board, were set to default 4096. PL1 is normally 125W, while PL2 is 241W. I simply set both PL1 and 2 to 125.

I still think water cooling is only for those who keep a toaster by the bath hence have chosen the Fractal Torrent case for air cooling.
