Can someone let me know if they think this 80PLUS Platinum be quiet! BN252 Dark Power Pro 11 750 W PSU will be enough to drive the i9 7900x chip at 4.6/4.7ghz along with a D5 revo pump and a 1080ti, also overclocked, or will I need more juice?

Pushing it on a 750w I'd think. As a min I'd guess you'd see 500w pulled from the wall on that set up - doesn't leave a lot of breathing room.

FYI, on my build I see regular peaks of 550w and an OC'd 7900x is similar in power consumption to an OC'd 1950x

92% efficient at 500W from the wall.

460W used of 750W = 61%

That's right around the sweet spot.

260 for the card 300 for the CUP and maybe another 50 for everything else. It's cutting things very fine but should be doable.

As 8 pack says 850 from a decent brand like XFX or Seasonic would make me feel a lot more comfortable.

Seasonic yep , superflower (the gold and plat) yep , XFX , nooooo , junk , poorly made had a few of the 1050w recent ones all failed , a friend had a 1050w that failed and a 1250 that buzzed and eventually failed, they look good and thats about it.

I hazard a guess that its the reason Overclockers don't stock the 'higher end' XFX psu anymore.

Nope. Seasonic make most of the XFX PSU's

Just the designed platform, the component choice depends largely on the budget that XFX allows.

I got one 850W XFX black edition died on me as well, waited for 3 months for a replacement, got too tired and asked for a Corsair SF600 instead.
