I thought that my non-K chip was limited to DDR4-2666 even in a Z370 board, but CPU-Z shows it as running at 2,933/CL 16.
The dual Ballistix sticks are rated at 3,000/16 via XMP.
I think I set it to the XMP profile so surprised to see it running at 2,933!
Is this normal?

The board supports up to 4000 or so, but I am thinking of doubling the capacity and dropping in 2x 32GB 3600/18.
As it is already running above the stock DDR4-2666, is it safe to say that DDR4-3600 will theoretically work?
This assuming that the CPU is happy with the speed, which doesn't seem that ambitious for a 9 series.

The CPU limit is just what intel say is 100% supported, the motherboard will support RAM OverClocking.

what board do you have z370 is a bit random, we would need to full muddle number.
you could just look up the boards specs your self and see supported ram speeds.

Remember about passed 2666 is classed as an OC and not going to 100% work ever time, and 32gb dimms and fun to run at high speed s too so dont go mad buying 4600mhz stuff
