On our forum, there's a fancypants calendar thing which allows folks to create events and whatnot. Now our members are able to download the events which adds them to Outlook which is lovely and all, but I'd also like to add this functionality to Chrome and iOS. On top of that, I'd like to know if it's possible to have a permanent feed to the calendar so if a new event is created, it automatically updates.

Is this possible? Can anyone help a calendar noob out?

You maybe able to do this natively in chrome too, but if you use google calendar
you can either export icalender/icals file from you forum OR subscribe to icalender feed
which will give you a link
[something like webcal://www.calendarlabs.com/templates/ical/UK-Holidays.ics ]
which you can give to google calendar in its 'other calender' section
[see this too ... wow these google forums are crap cannot go back in the browser]

In google calendar (as in the web site), next to the "Other calendars" you see a drop down. One of the items in the drop down, is add by URL. This is for adding a iCal by URL, so basically just pointing to an ICS file on the web. If your calendar plugin on your forum is regularly updating that ICS file, then google calendar should pull those automatically every so often.
