Ice Cube Trays

I buy the bags of ice for a quid, so much easier than trays or making bags. I have a good thermos type bag, so that goes in the boot, ice in that for journey home, then into freezer. Couple of quid a month for ice during summer isnt an issue for me.

I used to fill the plastic coca cola cups, The red plastic ones i guess they are a good 330ml and i simply froze the entore thing into a giant ice cube and when i wanted ice i ran the cup under warm water until this 330ml ice cube came out and put it into a pint glass.

Probably the best yet, Massive cooling potential, Little refills.

Unless I missed something, this might work if you want a pint of gin/vodka and tonic, but not so much if 3 or 4 guests each ask for “a gin/vodka and tonic please, and could you add a few ice cubes and maybe a wedge of lemon or lime?”

just press button on freezer, et voila - ice cubes.

Or on ours, push glass gently against lever and watch the cubes drop into the glass.
When the ice maker stopped working on our previous fridge-freezer, I bought bags of ice at Tesco for £1.00 each, until the new fridge-freezer arrived, and the guys who installed it and plumbed it in put the old one in the garage, the fridge and freezer compartments both worked okay, and my wife uses them as a back up for the extra food and wines at Christmas.
