ICHR or RAID?

Hi,

I've got a p6t Deluxe, with 3x Velociraptors I want in Raid0.. When I go into the BIOS to change the controller from IDE, I've got 2 options, which are ICHR and RAID..

Which one do I need? is there a performance increase with ICHR, I hard it supports NCQ which my Raptors do...

Any advice would be great.

I don't know that board but have used several Asus P5Q series and would say that based on those use the Intel ICH10R controller for RAID - the other setting could well be the Asus' own onboard RAID (Marvell chip I think).

When you set as ICH10R then on boot you'll need to hit CTRL+I to enter the Intel Storage Mgr setup where you specify what type of array you want, which drives to add to the array, stripe size if RAID 0 etc etc. Should be straightforward from there on in.
