Just like to say I have had mine a week chaps, I will writing a review soon.
however for those interested in getting one now.
its a pretty decent NAS, it looks fantastic.
speed isnt the best though, getting 8 Megabytes download and 2-3 Megabytes upload using FTP samba performance is a little poorer.
The fan on low is still quite audible.
I would turn it off but there is no way to find out the temperature of the Hardrive, it would be nice if icy had put this in the firmware, but saying that its the same firmware from the NAS 1000, infact I would say its just its the same device in a nicer box.
bewarned if you buy one of these, you can only use the device as a USB external drive if its formatted in FAT32.
and remember everytime you change your settings in the NAS, save the config to another machine, I have already had one situation where the NAS lost its settings and had to manually input shares and users again
