icy box question

I hear that icy box's have a blue LED glow, which pulsates with disk access. Sounds nice but can it be turned off?

Thanks
Not without modding the little beaut', and why would you want to do that?

Seriously though you can hardly see the little begger anyway. so unless you've got it on a glass shelf, I'm sure it won't cause to much bother.

hmm, interesting, im after a SATA one. Still undecided whether I should get the silver or black one. Got any pics of yours?

I got one today (sata connection). They look quite good.

Just wondering - does anyone know if it is ok to connect the drive directly to the internal sata connections inside the hdd enclosure? It looks like you have to just slide the drive onto the internal connections, as it comes without cables for internal use (well you do get a sata cable for connecting external to the pci sata adapter). I assume that's the idea anyway?

Ok cheers.

Have also found my new hdd to have a jumper that offers a J4 or Partial setting. The J4 setting is the 1.5gb option (my mobo isn't sata II) which is what I need. Turning the disk over so that the component board is facing down, the diagram suggests that the left position is the 1.5gb option. It was set to the right hand position as develivered, so I'm assuming that is the sata II setting?

Bornslippy

P.S. The drive is a maxtor diamond max 300gb sata II
