IcyBox 390

Cheers for all the replies, I think this will do what I want fine.

Assuming my motherboard supports AHCI and windows is fine, will it cause any problem with power saving like S3 STR (Standby) etc?

install chipset drivers first, then try changing again

failing that, format (or take an image with acronis and restore to the ahci, should work)

Thanks mate, someone also sugested buying a sata pci card,, ideas ideas.. I think I will leave it atm cos I dont think I will be removing the icybox from my pc often, I guess I will get quite annoying if I start removing it often and having to shutdown before removing it, but atm it not too much of a prob.

yeah, the via sata cards on the bay have safely remove iirc

He idea was if I bought a sata card, and plugged my windows drive into it. Then enable AHCI, and boot windows up. Install the AHCI drivers, then shut down windows and plug my windows drive back into the motherboard. Then hopefully windows should boot up fine. That idea might work I guess?

no no, you'd need the drivers for that installed first too..

i mean to use that to connect the drive you want to be removable
