It would appear that if this drive is used with another firewire hard drive, namely, a Maxtor OneTouch II it freezes the machine up shortly after being detected, the only way to make the system respond again is to turn the drive off and the system becomes responsive again. Has anyone any ideas? I've updated the chipset to the latest firmware I could find, which was quite old.
