I've got an Icybox IDE/SATA usb enclosure winging it's way from germany, and I'm now thinking of buying a second enclosure purely for SATA to put a Seagate 2TB HDD ST2000DM001 drive in as a backup, which I'm about to buy from OCuK because they're the cheapest and I also want some haribo sweets.
I'm considering either of these two:
* 3.5in Black eSATA USB Trayless SATA External Hard Drive Enclosure SAT3510BUEGB
* Icy Box IB-550StU3S 5.25" USB External Optical Bay + 3.5" HDD
The Icybox looks very cool with it's blue illuminated sides, is esata and has 4 screws to open it up. The Startech, also esata, has a cooling fan, (not sure if the icybox does), front panel door that flips down and you can simply slide the drive in, close the door and switch on, no screws needed. I prefer that, although the Icybox looks nicer. Rainforest gives 4 good reviews on the startech. Anyone got experience of these enclosures?
