Bought this cause it was cheap, £50, to go with an old fx-6300. Worked really well although the stock fans only went down as low as 800rpm and were not the quietest but still acceptable. Upgraded my son's computer to an R5 2600 and swapped it over. Unfortunately I broke one of the fan blades so had to get new fans. Thought I'd get a couple of different types and test them out.
Phanteks 140mp: 500-1600 ± 250 rpm; 68.1 CFM; 1.62 mmH2O;
Cryorig QF140 performance: 600 ~ 1850 RPM ±10 %; 128 CFM; 2.12 mmH2O
The QF 140's came with case screws, rubber case attachments and a molex adaptor for £10.99 each
The phanteks 140mp came with the fan and were £16.26 for a pair.
The phanteks topped out at 1500rpm while the QF140's hit 1850.
Pump was set on full and I used OCCT small fft's to load the CPU. Tested 1.3v for a range of rpm and 1.4v at 100% & 50% pwm.
like for like RPM the phanteks were quieter but you can run the QF140's at a lower RPM than the phanteks.
given the large head room you have on the cpu while gaming you could run either of these fans at low RPM and still get a decent temp. i can't test any modern games as the system has an old r7 250x in it.
