Got a computer in for repair crawling with these bugs, was difficult to get a proper photo before they scurried away into the PSU.

Any ideas almighty OcUK?

What you have there sir is your common or garden long eared Silver Fish!

Or it could be an ant.

Pretty sure it's not a spider.

You said it went into the PSU? Careful it could be a bee and that's it's nest...do you hear a buzzing sound when it's turned on?

Yeah...no...it's a cockroach.

More than one in it?
Get it out of your house, kill them off, use nasty stuff, but get them blitzed and so not allow any to escape.
Infestation might be an issue if you do not get rid of them all swiftly, watch crushing them, some times carry eggs on their exoskelton, and these adhere to the items that crush them, shoes etc, and thenget walked around everywhere.

He should know, his dad kills them for a living

We had German cockroaches in student halls once, pest control were not able to get rid of them, every month they'd be in to spray the place and they just wouldn't die.

Have no idea what their house is like if this is what the desktop is like. Must have only had it a couple of months too. We've put it well out of the way in a sealed box. Unfortunately we aren't able to throw it out :(

The customer was complaining it wasn't turning on, can only assume they've crawled into the PSU and shorted it out. The fan was also caked in cigarette smoke/tar/whatever. It barely spun up.

Oh the joys of working in tech support.

probably the trampy students bringing the eggs back in their clothes/bags/laptops though

I'd imagine it's far easier at home in a more controlled environment but most likely not something you can do on your own..

when I had carpet beetles I was only ever seeing 1-2 actual beetles a day and just hoovering them up.

had bug killing powder that wouldn't work on cockroaches down the skirting boards where the grubs would travel like highways and I would wake up during the middle of the night and go around with a screw driver checking for the grubs being active and would get a few of those a night.

It took a full summer and winter to finally get rid of them, with cockroaches I bet you have no chance without professional chemicals as they hide a lot better and don't die so easily.

didn't mythbusters try to drown some cockroaches and they still didn't die just went dormant?
