hi i want to plug my old ide drive into my motherboard, so i can

1. get my old files off it onto my sata 2.

2. use it as a spare file / swap drive for photoshop.

What settings do i need ? ive put the ide drive on SLAVE jumper, however there is a Master / Slave jumper so im not sure.....

also the ide drive has windows 98 se on it, which i believe is FAT32. Will there be a problem accessing this from xp ?

Assuming you already have a DVD drive on the IDE cable and set as master then the HDD needs to be set as a slave.

XP can read FAT32 with no problems, just make sure the BIOS doesn't decide to change the boot order and try and boot off it. Not a big deal if it does but it's worth taking 20s to check in case you get a surprise.
