Hi,
After recently getting an SSD and cloning my old drive on to it I've been trying to change SATA settings from IDE to ACHI. I've followed a simple tutorial I found on the web involving manual registry edits and the intstalling of a Microsoft driver to change from IDE to ACHI without the need for a clean install of Windows 7.
Initially it worked fine, installing new drivers automatically after an alteration in BIOS after booting. It then rebooted again so the changes could take full effect.
The following day, however, I turned on the machine and I was unable to start the computer as smoothly as before. I am presented with an option to start Windows 7 or Windows 7 (recovered). The latter is simply as it were previously, but what has brought up this change when launching Windows? Are there problems that I can address?
